AdventureWorks is Microsoft's bicycle company demo, here in its Power BI Desktop sales version. The sample .pbix is a public download.
What the drawing shows
Sales is the fact table on the middle disc. Sales Order sits beside it, joined one to one, holding the order and line numbers.
Five dimensions one join out: Customer, Product, Reseller, Date and Sales Territory.
Sales joins Date more than once: by order date, due date and ship date. Only one of those joins can be active, so the others are drawn as dashed ropes, switched off. The model's one measure, Sales Amount by Due Date, exists to use one of the inactive joins.
A small table named Table, two columns, joined to nothing, sits on the left under "joined to nothing". Samples ship with leftovers too.
Four automatic date tables, as in every model with date columns.
